Libby Whelan lit a candle on 03/27/2013:
"So shocked & saddened to hear of Joanne's passing. Worked with her at the S'side Tax Centre & she was always so friendly & ALWAYS had that big smile on her face. My deepest sympathy, thoughts & prayers to her family."
Marlene Cox lit a candle on 03/26/2013:
"I can't come up with the words to explain the feelings of loss for you Joanne. We shared so many thoughts and so many giggles too many to count. I wish I had told you more how much your friendship, guidance and support meant to me. I will miss you."
Joanne's daughter-in-law Brianna lit a candle on 03/27/2013:
"Nana Jo, you were loyal and considerate, always. You had strong family ties and you maintained them. You were a caretaker by nature and you were forever looking after all of us. You always had a sense of duty and purpose, yet you would take the time to stop and somehow perfectly understand the nonsensical language of a two-year-old. You and your grand-babies shared a mutual adoration and they will always know how much Nana loved them. There are so many things I admire about you- from your unconditional love for your family, to your steadfast determination and efficiency, to your appreciation of life's simple pleasures- and even these qualities have a hard time stacking up next to the unfathomable strength and courage you displayed in these last few months. It seems impossible to believe you are gone. The special place you held in our family may be sadly empty now but the special place you hold in our hearts will remain forever. We love you, rest in peace."
